About Wishlist
Wishlist is ideal for those who have trouble picking out gifts for their special someone. It's also perfect for people who have trouble creating a wish list on demand. If this sounds like you, worry no longer! Wishlist solves this problem by providing a repository to store your list and allows those you invite to view it.
What can you do with Wishlist? We hope that you will use it to store you most wanted items and then invite friends and family to sign up and view your list. After they signed up they can start a list of their own. This way you'll always have a update list of what that special someone wants. Birthday or Holiday coming up? Special Anniversary? Or even if you just want to say thanks to someone, you can login and see what's on their list and pick that up or even be inspired to get something else.
Wishlist isn't too different from other wishlists you've seen all over the web. What we try to do different is provide a single place to store your list since we're not tied into any kind of store. By making it easy for you to add items through the click of a special bookmark in our tools section, you can shop the web and if you see something you want simply click to add and then be put right back on the page you were looking at.
What we also do differently is track purchases. By forcing users to login before viewing lists, you can control who sees your list. If you're viewing someone's list you can see which items are purchased or on hold by someone else. Granted someone could log in and not mark off the gifts they bought, but if everyone plays by the rules you can kiss the fear of duplicate gifts goodbye!
Where we're going
We're working on a few things that we're pretty psyched about!
We're working on tracking personal upcoming events to alert your subscribers. We'll be adding a feature to allow you to mark items specifically for the next event. And then we'll give out bonus points for purchasers of those items just to make things interesting!
Tired of getting the wrong sizes? Like brown sweaters but hate brown t-shirts? We'll be putting in a system to allow you to put in all sorts of pecular information so friends and family will know.
Have a question or suggestion for other subscribers on a list? Someone ask for a season of a show on DVD and you need to find out which they have by asking their friends? We'll be putting in a forum feature that will allow you to leave notes on a item for other subscribers to see.
We're also looking into having email contact list log in to find friends, much like on facebook or myspace.
